Vivo Energy Ghana Set to Promote Green Energy through the Green4Clean Project

At the center of the operations of Vivo Energy Ghana is not just the quest to be environmentally friendly, but also a desire to empower the next generation with practical knowledge on environmental sustainability.

It is against this backdrop that Vivo Energy Ghana, in collaboration with United Way Ghana and Academic City University College, have launched the Green4Clean Schools Renewable Energy Project.  This initiative which underscores Vivo Energy Ghana's commitment to energy sustainability was held under the theme, ‘Building a sustainable future’

The project aims to educate students from beneficiary schools on renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy through educational programmes and practical demonstrations, and to inspire students to adopt sustainable energy solutions and raise awareness about environmental challenges within their schools and communities.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, the Corporate Communications Manager at Vivo Energy Ghana, Shirley Tony Kum emphasized the company's dedication to fostering environmentally conscious leadership among the youth. She highlighted, "Vivo Energy Ghana believes in the transformative power of education. Each solar lamp donated, each panel installed, and each lesson taught contributes to shaping a sustainable future.

Worlanyo Ocloo, President of the Governing Council of United Way Ghana, praised Vivo Energy Ghana for their generous support of the project, noting their commitment to underserved communities and green energy advocacy. He emphasized the project's broader impact on addressing climate issues, stating, "This initiative is pivotal in educating and preparing young minds to responsibly engage with green energy technologies, with potential life-saving implications."

Madam Habiba Kotomah, Chairperson and Director of Education at La-Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly, emphasized the project's significance in integrating renewable energy solutions into educational frameworks. She remarked, "By exemplifying and showcasing sustainable technologies, we are setting a transformative precedent."

Additionally, as part of the launch, solar lamps were donated to final year students of La Enobal Basic School and La Presby Primary School A&B to ensure they have reliable lighting during their preparations for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in July.
