Stan Mittelman
Chief Executive Officer
Stan Mittelman was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in March 2022. Stan brings over 30 years of downstream energy experience to Vivo Energy and has spent a substantial part of his career operating in Africa. Before joining Vivo Energy Stan was SVP Africa at TotalEnergies Marketing & Services, where he led the fuel retailing and marketing business across 40 countries in Africa. Prior to this Stan held a range of senior positions at TotalEnergies, including CEO of Total Marketing France, and a number of roles on the continent, including West Africa for Total Marketing Services and MD Total Zimbabwe.
Nimit Shah
Chief Financial Officer
Nimit Shah joined Vivo Energy as CFO in May 2024.
Before joining Vivo Energy he was a partner in the investment team and Head of Debt Capital Markets at Africa-focused private equity firm, Helios Investment Partners. At Helios, he has led deals in more than 30 African markets, worth around $2bn of value. These include GBFoods Africa, Interswitch, Continental Outdoor, and OVH Energy. He was also involved in the original deal when Vitol and Helios acquired Shell's downstream Africa business to create Vivo Energy in 2011.
Nimit holds an MBA from Wharton School of Business, and an MA in Economics and Management from Oxford University.
Arnaud Guichard
EVP Retail & Commercial
Arnaud is the EVP Retail & Commercial, a role he has held since 1 February 2024. Arnaud is responsible for building and developing all areas of our Retail and Commercial business, including maximising value from retail fuel, and accelerating growth of our non-fuel retail and commercial offering.
Prior to his current role, Arnaud was EVP Retail. Prior to joining Vivo Energy, he worked for TotalEnergies, where he was the General Manager for Lubmarine, leading their global marine lubricants business. Arnaud started his career at TotalEnergies 30 years ago, and has held a number of varied roles, many of which have been focused on Africa. Before Lubmarine, he spent four years as Vice President Commercial Sales and Specialties for TotalEnergies in Africa, responsible for B2B fuels, lubricants, LPG, aviation, bitumen and solar. Throughout his career, Arnaud has spent a number of years in overseas roles, including as TotalEnergies’ Managing Director in Vietnam and Jordan, as Retail Director in Nigeria, and as Sales & Marketing Director in Uganda.
George Roberts
EVP Business Integration & Operations
George is the EVP Business Integration & Operations, a role he has held since September 2023. Prior to his current role, George served as EVP Maghreb & Indian Ocean. He joined Vivo Energy in 2019 as Managing Director Morocco.
Before joining Vivo Energy, George worked as Managing Director - EG Fuel for EG Group in the Netherlands, prior to which he was VP of Supply and Distribution at EG Group. He also previously worked in the oil and gas industry with BP, where he held several positions over more than 11 years. He is a graduate of MIT and Cranfield School of Management.

Hans Paulsen
EVP East
Hans is the EVP East, a role he has held since 1 July 2019. Prior to his current role, Hans served as the Group Programme Manager leading the SAP implementation project for the Group. He joined Vivo Energy in 2013 as Managing Director Uganda.
Before joining Vivo Energy, Hans held senior management roles in the telecoms sector both in Uganda and Zambia. He also previously worked in the oil and gas industry with Royal Dutch Shell in Uganda and Kenya from 1997 to 2002. He is an MBA graduate from Leicester University in England.
Franck Konan-Yahaut
EVP West
Franck is the EVP West, a position he has held since February 2019. He previously held the positions of Managing Director, Shell Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso Cluster, Managing Director, Côte d’Ivoire, before taking up his previous role of Managing Director, Senegal in September 2014.
Franck transferred from Royal Dutch Shell to Vivo Energy following the sale of the Africa Downstream business in 2011. Franck joined Royal Dutch Shell in 1996 from PwC, and following a number of years as finance manager in Guinea, Ghana and West Africa, he moved to West Africa Gas Pipeline Company in the Shell upstream business as general manager Finance and Administration.
Peyami Oven
EVP Maghreb & Indian Ocean
Peyami is the EVP Maghreb & Indian Ocean, a role he has held since September 2023. Prior to his current role, Peyami served as Managing Director Morocco.
Before joining Vivo Energy, Peyami spent a number of years with TotalEnergies, as Country Chair and Managing Director in both Egypt and Mauritius, and previously in strategy, sales and marketing roles at TotalEnergies’ head offices in Paris and in Turkey. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
Seelan Naidoo
EVP South
Seelan is the EVP South, a position he has held since June 2024. He concurrently serves as Managing Director and CEO of Engen, incorporating the businesses in South Africa, Botswana, eSwatini, Lesotho, and Mauritius. Prior to this, he held the position of General Manager: Retail (2017-22), responsible for the profitability and sustainability of Engen’s 1 000+ service stations in South Africa, including network development, station operations, marketing, customer service and convenience. Seelan joined Engen in 1986 and has occupied various positions in refining, and business management, mainly in Engen’s East African markets.

Rita Bouwer
Chief Legal and Compliance Officer
Rita is the Chief Legal and Compliance, a role she has held since October 2023. Having joined the Group in April 2014, she also served as DPO and Head of Ethics, Compliance and Investigations. She is responsible for leading the Legal & Ethics and Compliance teams and managing the Data Compliance Office.
Prior to joining Vivo Energy, Rita spent a number of years working for consultancy firms, including Ernst & Young, specialising in forensic investigations and compliance risk management in Africa.
Rita holds a LLB Hons Degree from the University of Birmingham and is a Chartered Accountant, Certified GDPR Practitioner and Certified Fraud Examiner.
Chris Kemp
Head of Supply & Risk
Chris is Head of Supply & Risk, a role he has held since May 2023, having joined the Group in October 2022 as Head of Supply: East & South. Chris is an experienced trader and previously worked for Vitol as a distillates trader based in Bahrain. Prior to this role, he worked for 10 years for BB Energy Dubai and INEOS in Canary Wharf in various trading roles. Chris holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.
MIKE McCORMICK
Chief Information Officer
Mike is the Chief Information Officer, a role he has held since 2012 though he has been in charge of IT and responsible for Procurement since the company was founded, working with Shell as a Program Manager from 2009.
Mike has more than 30 years of experience in the technology field. Before joining Vivo Energy and Shell, he was Programme Manager at BP. He has also worked in project manager positions for several companies, including Investec and Marsh. Mike has an MBA from the University of New England in Australia.
Issam Sadiq
VP Finance: Treasury
Issam is the VP Finance: Treasury, a role he has held since joining the Group in 2012.
Before this, he was Markets Head & Country Treasurer, Director at Citibank in Casablanca, where he worked for over 20 years. He is an MBA graduate from Al Akhawayn University in Ifran, Morocco.

Prior to joining the Group, as an independent consultant, she provided specialised consulting to a number of listed companies in the areas of reward and talent management strategies and deployment. Her knowledge and experience of the human resources field spans a period of 28 years, across a number of diverse sectors, including holding various generalist, specialist and executive HR positions at British American Tobacco, where she worked for 12 years and as remuneration consultant at Old Mutual for seven years.
